Alan Katzmann, friend and regular contributor to this blog and my Tom Mix Oz Music blog, asked me to put this song on here for download because, as he says, most people in Oz heard this version on the top 40 back in 1960 but it has not been on CD. "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" by Jimmie Rodgers got to #1 for a few weeks in 1960 and was a big hit Oz-wide...sadly the modern day younger CD compilers keep on issuing the wrong version...in fact the only version available is completely different to the hit single version.

In fact, the version commonly found on CD is the hit version AS IT WAS ORIGINALLY RECORDED. For the 45, Roulette did an edit, pasting the mid-song vocal group break onto the start, to replace the original solemn opening.
